Watch for more information on our Pet Costume Contest & Photo Shoot coming in October 2008.
The tentative date is October 25th, from 9 am to 4 pm at the Sutherlin Community Grange Hall on South Comstock Road.
November 15th from 9 am to 3 pm there will be our Santa Paws Photo Shoot with a Craft Sale.
On December 6th, another Santa Paws Photo Shoot along with Flea Market from 9 am to 3 pm. Please
come and join us!
Had lots of fun at Fido Funday on Sept 20th, sponsored by SPCA. We sold more tickets for a quilt
made by Louise, member of the Sutherlin Grange Hall. This quilt can be seen at Sutherlin Grange on our next flea market, October
4th. Come and purchase a ticket for $1 or 6 tickets for $5 and win a beautiful queen sized quilt.
AUGUST 24TH, 2008
Just finished particpating in the Blackberry Festival, held the weekend of August
15th,16th and 17th. Sold our T-shirts, Raffled Garden Cart(donated by Lowe's of Roseburg), Lawn Chair(PriceLess of Sutherlin),
2 boxes of Pet Accessories(Retractable Leashes donated by D.C. Co-Op)and Gift Certificates for your Pet's one night stay at
Cabin Creek Kennels. We also gave away patriotic doggie caps to all that made a purchase at our booth, which by the way went
over well.
We had a successful Rabies Clinic with Dr. Gore of Oakland Veterinary Hospital
and his assistant Belinda on May 10th. There were over 50 dogs vaccinated.
On July 11th and 12th Sutherlin Dog Park held a huge yard sale on Stearns Lane.
Leila and Ernie Burgess generously donated their backyard for the event. The very next weekend,July 19th,we joined Sutherlin's
City-wide Yard Sale continuing to raise money for fencing the dog park.
In June and July, Abby's of Sutherlin continued to sell the coupon doggie bones
and holding a drawing at the end of the month with the lucky person winning a breakfast for two. In the Month of June,
the lucky winner was Cheryl Gifford and in July, the winner was Georgine Siewell.
We are continuing to write for grant money. Petco Foundation came through
for us with $1,000.00. Welcome, Petco, to Douglas County and our pet owner's say thank you for your presence and support.
APRIL 24TH, 2008
Abby's fundraiser turned out well and we say thank you to our local Abby's Legendary Pizza(held
during months of Jan.,Feb., and Mar.) . We may continue this fundraiser in June. We will let everyone know
after manager makes his decision.
Also had a T-shirt sale on April 18th with our doggie mascot entertaining those that stopped by
outside Price Less Food. Lots of fun and a successful fundraiser.
Next Fundraiser will be at Rife's Home Furniture parking lot this Sat., April 26th 2008 at
9:00 a.m. We will be selling Baked Goods, T-shirts, Cookbooks, Memorial Bricks, and Gift Certificates for one-night
stay for your doggie at Cabin Creek Kennels.
On MAY 10TH, 2008 STARTING AT 1:00 P.M. A RABIES CLINIC will be held. Where:
Rife's Home Parking Lot
Cost: $8.00 per pet. Will do the 1st 100 dogs. All pets must be on a leash.

It has been too long since updating this site, but that does not mean the committee has not been working
behind the scenes.
1.-We have a fundraiser going on at Abby's Pizza in Sutherlin. Buy a bone for $1:00 which is displayed
on Abby's wall; at the end of the month there will be a drawing for a BREAKFAST FOR TWO.
2.-There are now T-SHIRTS for sale, buy 2 for $20.00 or 1 for $12.00. We have all different sizes
and colors. You may see them at Sutherlin Veterinary Hospital, Sutherlin Vistor's Center or Sutherlin Pets and Grooming on
Central Avenue.
3.-We still have dog tags for $12.00 or $15.00 with a picture of your doggie. Also there are Cookbooks
with doggie biscuit receipes for $2.00, Greeting cards with different breeds of dogs on the front,and Gift Certificates donated
by Cabin Creek Kennels, $15.00 value for only $7.00 that would give your pet a one night stay at the kennel.
4.-RUMMAGE SALE scheduled for March 22nd, 2008 at Union Gap Loop
5.-BRICKS FOR SALE(with your pet's name)--$25.00 for one line up to 10 characters. $35.00 for two
lines up to 20 characters. $40.00 for 3 lines up to 30 characters
Also, we are still working on Grants. We have added to our list of grant applications: Oregon 319
NPS Program Grant, Ford Foundation Grant, and C. Giles Hunt Charitable Trust Grant.
We will soon be sending out letters to businesses and licensed dog owners asking them to rally round this
worth-while community project.
