Since our last Rabies clinic on May 5th, we have had a microchip fundraiser, rummage sale, and our November Santa Paws.  We are now in the process of writing for grants.  Abby's Legendary Pizza Foundation, Petco Foundation and Fred Meyer Foundation grants have all been applied for as of this month.
Our next fundraiser will be our December lst Santa Paws.  This will be held at the Sutherlin Grange Hall, 851 S. Comstock, Sutherlin, OR
Next Committee Meeting will be Dec. 3rd, 2007 at the Apple Peddler, Monday at 5:30 p.m.

success again!  We, the Sutherlin Dog Park, have now a 501c3 status, tax exempt as of May 14th, 2007.
 
At our next meeting, June 4, 2007, at the Apple Peddler, 5:30 p.m., we will be discussing grant writing, status of our 3 fencing bids, micro chips for doggies(fundraiser), Blackberry Festival time(possible costume parade).
 
On May 21st, 2007 met with Humane Society at their regular meeting at Sandy's Place.  We passed out Order forms for engraved memorial bricks.  Several took the order form and wanted more delivered to them.  We will place them at all veterinary clinics and update the clinics on the progress of the dog park. Also, we will supply order forms to the Umpqua Valley Humane Society thrift store.

Monday, May 7, 2007--MEETING at Apple Peddler, 5:30 p.m.  Rabies Clinic at Rife's Home Furniture parking lot a Success.  Need to dicuss Pet Walkathon at Roseburg this weekend, Blackberry Festival, Kudos, Memorial Wall, and Grant Writing.

March 3rd and April 7th, the Sutherlin Dog Park Committee was at the Sutherlin Grange Hall on South Comstock with a table full of items for sale and all proceeds went to benefit the park.  The Sutherlin Dog Park Committee will be at the Grange Hall on a montly basis: The FIRST Saturday of EVERY month. 
 
On Saturday, May 05, 2007 from 1:00 PM - 4:30 PM, you can get low-cost Rabies Vaccination at the Rifes parking lot in Sutherlin (1010 West Central).  The low-cost is $8.00 per Dog.  Sutherlin Veterinarian will be administering the shots. !!! All Dogs Must Be On Leash !!! Nail trimming is available with a donation.  Personalized "Doggy ID"' will be available. A Doggy ID with text only will be $12.00, and with photo $15.00.  Again, all proceeds benefit the Sutherlin Dog Park.
 
As of April 24, 2007, three bids for fencing of the park have been submitted to our city manager.  We are waiting for the park designer's review of estimated bids. Will be spot spraying for poison oak at the park site this weekend of May 05, weather permitting, under the supervision of the city maintenance.

At the Puppy Treats place of business on Central, next to the liquor store, we have displayed a local artist work of art. It's of a retriever black lab, holding a duck in its mouth. It is for sale for $50.00 (You can view this by clicking the "Cards and Stationary" link at the top of the page). This has been donated to benefit the Dog Park. Also, memorial brick sample with request form is available at the store for those who would like their dog's name placed at the entrance of the Park.

Our next committee meeting will be at the Apple Peddler on May 07, 2007 at 5:30 PM. Any interested party is welcome to attend.

We have sent in the 501C3 application and are now waiting on the approval in the mail, which we are sure the approval has been made. We are just waiting on the document to be received via P.O. Box.

 On February 12, 2007 the Dog Park Map designed by Rick Satre Associates was approved by the City Council of Sutherlin, OR. Now we are moving ahead with fund raisers and grants to earn money to start fencing the park this summer.  Estimates are being made on Donor Brick Wall and Fencing, so we will have more an idea on the amount of money needed.
 
 On March 3, 2007 at the Grange Hall on South Comstock in Sutherlin, OR, we will be at the monthly flea market with donated items to sell and also selling the engraved bricks that will be placed at the entrance of the park.
 
 Next Steering Committee Meeting: March 5th, 2007,  5:30 PM (17:30) at the Apple Peddler.

City Council meeting set for 2/12/07. Sutherlin Dog Park map designed by Sara of Rick Satre's Park's Design, will be presented to City Council for final approval.
 
Next meeting for Steering committee is Feb. 5th, Monday, at 5:30 pm, at the Apple Peddler in Sutherlin. Will discuss estimates to be made on cost of park and bricks to sell for fundraising.
